Paul
Paul has performed with Halle Orchestra, English and Welsh National Operas. Trumpet Teacher Keele University. Trumpet speciality, Brass.
Paul studied trumpet with John Dickinson in Manchester before entering the Royal Academy of Music where his teachers were William J Overton (Trumpet), Maurice Miles (Conducting) and Mildred Litherland (Piano). He graduated with a 2:1 and gained an LGSM Diploma, following he completed a Cert.Ed at Bretton Hall College specialising in brass teaching.
His performance experience is extremely varied from performing with major orchestras, such as the Halle, Welsh and English National Opera Companies to the commercial side including Gene Pitney and Chico Arnez.
Early music is a passion of Paul’s, he plays cornetto with Minstrel’s Gallery and leads a chamber choir Jacobi Chorale. On both modern and baroque trumpet he is co principal with English Pro Musica.
Throughout his career Paul has been active in education and is currently undertaking a part time research degree at Birmingham Conservatoire.
Over the past 10 years Paul has become more involved in examining working for OCR, the Guildhall examinations service and Trinity College London. He has examined throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and in India.
